What are the KIC AgriBiz Programs?
KIC Agribusiness Programs (AgriBiz Build Up, Women’s AgriBiz Elevate and AgriBiz Sprint) have been designed to address some of the challenges facing the agriculture sector in northern Ghana. Why is the program limited to only Northern Ghana?
At KIC, we are committed to developing young entrepreneurs across the country, through different program portfolios. Other KIC Programs are available for entrepreneurs across all regions. Kindly visit the KIC programs page https://kicghana.org/programs/ for more information.
Specifically, the AgriBiz Program is designed for the USAID zones of influence in the northern regions, namely:
- Northern Region districts (Yendi, Gushegu, Karaga, Mion, Sagnarigu, Nanton),
- North-East Region districts (Mamprugu Moagduri, East Mamprusi),
- Upper West Region districts (Nadowli Kaleo, Wa East, Daffiama Bussie Issa, Sissala East, Sissala West) and
- Upper East Region districts (Tempane, Garu, Bawku Municipal, Bawku West)

Why is KIC focusing on the informal sector?
The program is designed to support youth in the informal sector by harnessing their potential and innovation to ensure they have equal opportunities as youth in the formal sector. Although the program is originally designed for the informal sector, it is also open to young people in the formal sector. One key interest area of this program is to ensure inclusion and active participation of vulnerable youth and marginalized groups.
What form will the trainings take?
Trainings will take the form of virtual and in person sessions. The program will use coaching and research to encourage participants to take to examine their enterprises and identify innovative ways of growing and doing business while tapping into existing opportunities for expansion and growth.
How will I benefit from the program?
Through the various training, coaching and mentoring, the program will deepen your understanding of your business, analyze the available market opportunities for your business and provide you with skills to be investor-ready. The program presents an opportunity to pitch your business ideas to various investors, financial institution who are willing to offer affordable credit facilities to business and possible investor partners.
Who will pay for the trainings?
KIC and its partners are responsible for the training and tuition fees, and meals during training. Business will bear the cost of transportation to training venue and for internet connectivity to join online session.
