LbH, one of the innovative startups supported by the Kosmos Innovation Center (KIC) in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation is revolutionizing Ghana’s agricultural ecosystem with a digital platform that bridges the gap between smallholder farmers and agricultural service providers (ASPs), while also opening market opportunities and enhancing transparency through traceability.

Co-founded by Ato Kwamena and his team, LbH is among the promising youth-led agribusinesses to emerge from KIC’s AgriTech Challenge Pro and Business Incubation programs. The company’s end-to-end solution empowers farmers to access quality inputs, affordable services, and guaranteed markets, all through one connected platform.

“Our mission is to create a win-win ecosystem where farmers get the support they need, and ASPs grow their customer base more efficiently. We build relationships that boost productivity and trust,” says Ato Kwamena, co-founder and CEO of LbH.

LbH’s platform connects smallholder farmers with ASPs such as input suppliers, mechanization providers, agronomy consultants, and irrigation experts. By doing so, it significantly reduces customer acquisition costs for these providers while improving access, affordability, and service quality for farmers.

Beyond inputs and services, LbH runs a commodities trading component of their businessthat helps farmers secure markets for their produce. By aggregating crops, ensuring quality control, and liaising with trusted off-takers, the company ensures farmers earn more competitive prices and are paid on time.

As part of its scale-up strategy, LbH is launching a new e-commerce platform with built-in crop traceability, a bold innovation aimed at enhancing transparency, consumer confidence, and food safety. With this system, buyers can trace the full journey of a product, from farm to shelf.“Traceability builds trust. Consumers and retailers increasingly want to know where their food comes from. We’re answering that call,” Ato affirmed.

Benjamin Gyan-Kesse, Executive Director of the Kosmos Innovation Center, highlighted LbH’s progress: “LbH exemplifies the spirit of innovation, resilience, and impact we aim to nurture at KIC. By leveraging technology to improve service delivery, unlock market access, and drive food system transformation, LbH is setting a strong example of what agritech in Ghana can achieve. We are proud to support their journey.” He also mentioned that LbH’s approach to co-partner with KIC start-ups to provide innovative solutions also attests to their commitment to collaborative partnerships within the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Through programs like the AgriTech Challenge Pro and Business Incubation, KIC continues to identify, fund, and support youth-led agribusinesses that solve real problems across Ghana’s agricultural value chain. LbH’s story is one of many success stories that demonstrates the power of targeted support, mentorship, and investment in the country’s rising entrepreneurs.
