The Kosmos Innovation Center (KIC) proudly celebrates a new milestone achieved by its start-up, 3Farmate, with the launch of its latest innovation—a robot FAMA a multi-purpose platform that can plant seeds, apply fertilizer, weed farms as well as spray. The planting service was recently launched, with the other services to come up soon.
While this is not the company’s first breakthrough, it represents a significant step forward in its product development journey, reinforcing its commitment to building practical, technology-driven solutions for the agricultural sector.
Deepening Impact through Continuous Innovation
3 Farmate has consistently demonstrated its ability to evolve and refine its solutions, and the introduction of the robot highlights the start-up’s focus on continuous improvement and responsiveness to farmer needs.
The robot is designed to save cost per acre for planting by up to 60%. This improves planting accuracy and consistency and is cheaper than working with either manual labour or with farm machinery. This helps to enhance productivity across farming operations.
As agriculture increasingly embraces mechanization and smart technologies, solutions like this play a vital role in driving efficiency and supporting farmers to scale their operations.
A Journey of Iteration and Growth
Product development is rarely a one-time achievement, it is a journey of testing, learning, and refining. The latest launch by 3 Farmate reflects this process, showcasing how start-ups can build on previous innovations to deliver more advanced and impactful solutions over time.
This milestone underscores the importance of resilience, experimentation, and access to the right support systems in transforming ideas into market-ready technologies.
Enabling Innovation through the Center of Excellence
KIC continues to play a pivotal role in supporting such innovation journeys through its Center of Excellence in Kumasi—a dedicated hub for prototyping, testing, and product development.
The Center provides innovators with:
- Technical infrastructure for product design and prototyping
- Access to expert guidance and mentorship
- Opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange
- A conducive environment to experiment and refine ideas
By creating a space where innovation can thrive, the Center of Excellence is helping start-ups move beyond concepts to functional, scalable solutions.
A Call to Action: Build, Test, and Scale with KIC
As KIC celebrates this milestone with 3Farmate, it also encourages other start-ups and innovators to take the next step in their own journeys.
The KIC Center of Excellence is open to support entrepreneurs looking to develop, test, and scale their innovations.
Whether you are building in agritech, climate solutions, or emerging technologies, the Center offers the tools and ecosystem needed to accelerate progress and bring ideas to life.
Inspiring the Next Wave of Innovation
The continued progress of 3Farmate serves as a powerful reminder that innovation is not a one-time event, but an ongoing journey. Each milestone builds momentum toward greater impact—driving productivity, creating jobs, and transforming industries.
The Kosmos Innovation Center congratulates 3Farmate on this achievement and remains committed to empowering the next generation of innovators to turn bold ideas into lasting solutions.
