Rabbitton Ghana produces revolutionary pellet feed to support livestock industry

Rabbitton Ghana Ltd, a start-up supported by Kosmos Innovation Center (KIC) and the Mastercard Foundation is producing a revolutionary all-purpose feed that is helping farmers raise healthier livestock in a sustainable way.

Rabbitton Ghana Ltd specializes in nutrient-rich, pelletized animal feed suitable for rabbits and other herbivorous animals. This business was born out of a passion to support livestock farmers, particularly smallholders in underserved regions who often struggle to access consistent, quality feed for their animals.

“At Rabbitton Ghana Ltd, we are redefining animal nutrition—one pellet at a time. Our all-purpose feed empowers farmers with healthier, faster-growing livestock, while contributing to a more sustainable agricultural future,” Sharon Naa Adams, Co-founder of Rabbitton has revealed.

Filling a Critical Gap in Livestock Nutrition

The feed produced by Rabbitton addresses one of the biggest challenges facing Ghana’s small-scale livestock farmers: inconsistent and unbalanced feed options. Using locally available ingredients and rigorous quality control, the feed is designed to optimize weight gain, reduce mortality, and improve overall animal health, ultimately increasing farmers’ incomes.

What sets Rabbitton apart is its deep understanding of the local market, commitment to innovation, and clear focus on inclusive agribusiness development. The company actively works with women and youth in farming communities, offering training and promoting access to affordable feed alternatives.

Rabbitton Ghana Ltd is one of several high-potential agribusinesses supported by KIC. With its commitment to nurturing young entrepreneurs to build viable, scalable businesses within Ghana’s agricultural sector, KIC has supported many young people to start their own businesses from idea to market through the AgriTech Challenge and Incubation programs.

“Rabbitton is a start-up that demonstrates KIC’s purpose of impacting lives, transforming communities and powering innovation to drive sustainability and inclusive growth. Their work not only supports animal health and farmer profitability, but also contributes to food security and job creation, especially for young people and women in agriculture,” Benjamin Gyan-Kesse, Executive Director of KIC highlights.

As demand for their feed continues to grow, Rabbitton plans to scale production, extend distribution networks across regions, and introduce new feed formulations tailored to different animal groups. The company also aims to build a model that can be replicated across West Africa, serving as a beacon for sustainable agribusiness development.
